5 Tips To Find A Good Local Roofer

Katelyn Lewis • December 13, 2023

How do you find a good local roofer?

Here are our top 5 tips:

1.) Do your homework. Check with family, friends, and neighbors to see if they have a roofing company they recommend. Online, search for great ratings across Google, Yelp, Facebook, Better Business Bureau, or any platform you trust for reviews.

2.) Set up appointments, and note response times. If you’ve reached out to a roofing contractor or company and don’t hear back within 24 to 48 hours, think about what their response time may be if you decide to move forward with their estimate.

3.) Ask questions during your appointment. Come prepared with questions, from the installation process and projected timeline to payment terms. If needed, ask about financing. Doing so will ultimately make you feel more comfortable about the process.

4.) Pick the company or contractor that fits your needs. Consider price, work quality, and timeline for project completion. You’ll receive a range of estimates, so review which ones explain the factors going into the final cost. Some companies will try to oversell you, while others will bid low and deliver low quality work.

5.) Consider your experience so far with each roofer. If it’s a well-oiled machine with great people at every step, you should feel at ease putting your roof in their hands.
