How Long Does It Take To Replace Your Roof?

How long does it take to replace your roof?

Well, that depends on the size and steepness of your roof. Speaking from our experience, though, most roofs take 1-2 days to complete. Here’s what our roof replacement process looks like:

  1. Preparation. Our crews will roll out tarps around your home to assist in our cleanup process and to protect your garden, siding, and air conditioner units. They will pay special attention to any furniture or possessions and protect them or ask you if they can move them out of the way.

  2. Tear-Off. They will then tear off your existing roof, starting from the ridge and moving down to the eaves. You may hear a lot of shoveling noises. It’s also the point at which the crew is able to assess the wood decking underneath for any damage or need for replacement.

  3. Moisture Barrier Installation. At this stage, the crew will install Ice & Water Shield, synthetic underlayment, drip edge, and any attic ventilation components.

  4. Roofing Material Installation. This step also includes the installation of flashing, pipe collars, and any skylights you may have.

  5. Cleanup. The crew will take time to clean your yard of debris, including old roofing materials, nails, and any plastic or paper waste. They will run a nail rake 2-3 times throughout your yard to ensure a clean and safe environment. They will wrap up the project by hauling away and disposing of debris.
