Ever wonder what a 40-year-old roof might look like?

Our suspicions were set high when a prospective client called us to say she'd bought this house in 1982 and she'd never replaced the roof, but water had recently started dripping from the ceiling in one of the bedroom.

Take a look at this photo captured during our exterior expert's assessment of the roof. Most asphalt shingle roofs in the Richmond, VA area last between 20 and 25 years, so one celebrating its 40th birthday this year is quite unusual.

What's really shocking: It was only this spring when the roof started leaking!

And good news: We replaced this homeowner's roof last week, so she will not have to worry about her roof for many more years to come.
