Roof For A Veteran: Shingle Roof Replacement in Chesterfield, VA 23234

Each year, our Roof For A Veteran campaign invites the community to nominate a local veteran—or their family—who may need a new roof but isn’t in a position to afford one. 

This year, Rick Ecker of the Vets On Track Foundation connected us with Mrs. Carol Coleman, a widow whose husband served in the military and passed away unexpectedly from cancer in September 2024.

Mrs. Carol Coleman put her career on hold to care for her husband full-time. Since his passing, she’s faced financial challenges, made even harder when her insurance company required a roof replacement before renewing her policy. 

The day before Veterans’ Day, our team installed a brand-new RETEX roof on Mrs.Coleman’s home – free of charge. RETEX provided the labor, and ABC Supply and TAMKO Building Products generously donated the Tamko Titan “Rustic Black” architectural shingles and roofing materials.

This initiative is especially meaningful to us, as two members of the RETEX team – John Gordon and Caleb Kammerling – have also served in the Marine Corps. John Gordon served in the Marines until 2018, and Caleb Kammerling continues to serve in the Marine Reserves.
