The Best Retex Gift This Year: New Roof For A Veteran

Continuing our holiday cheer, we wanted to take a moment to reflect on our Roof Deployment Project with Owens Corning this year.

Through Owens Corning’s “Roof Deployment Project,” we started a nomination process in September to find a local veteran who may be in need of a new roof, but who may not have the means at the moment to afford one. Purple Heart Homes then vetted the nominated veterans to help us narrow down a list of top contenders in October, of which we selected a winner.


As an Owens Corning Platinum Preferred Contractor, we installed a free Retex roof on Nov. 9 for 82-year-old Vietnam veteran Mr. Charles Billiter of Chester, VA. We supplied the labor, and Owens Corning supplied the Duration“Teak” shingles.


We’re grateful to Owens Corning for enabling us to help out a local veteran this year, and we hope to be able to do so again in the new year.
